We announce a PhD Position in Chemical Engineering at Lund University linked to two ongoing initiatives: ISWIM – Innovative Stormwater Impact Mitigation, supported by Formas, and REWAISE – Resilient Water Innovation for a Smart Economy, supported by the EU Horizon 2020 program. Both projects are conducted in collaboration with Sweden Water Research, a joint R&D company of three water utilities in southern Sweden: NSVA, Sydvatten, and VA SYD.

The Department of Process and Life Science Engineering (PLE) at Lund University invites applications for a Doctoral Researcher to join its Membrane Group. The PhD position focuses on developing sustainable membrane-based solutions for storm- and rainwater treatment. The research will involve monitoring and optimizing membrane systems currently being installed in Lund and Malmö. Key tasks include sampling and analyzing raw and treated water, assessing membrane performance and fouling, and refining cleaning protocols. The project also explores new monitoring technologies to enable remote operation and includes lab-scale studies on pre- and post-treatment steps such as PFAS removal.
