Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering with focus on Membrane Technology, Lund University, Sweden

Lund University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Chemical Engineering with a focus on Membrane Technology. This position is part of a strategic initiative to advance sustainable membrane-based separation processes.

The role is based at the Department of Process and Life Science Engineering (PLE), located at Kemicentrum, one of the largest chemistry research hubs in the Nordics. PLE hosts around 150 staff, including 65 PhD students, and offers broad expertise in chemical engineering, food technology, biotechnology, and microbiology. The department fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment with a strong focus on safety and communication.

The successful candidate will join the Membrane Group, Sweden’s leading research team in membrane technology. The group’s work spans conventional and emerging processes, including reverse osmosis, nanofiltration, electrodialysis, and membrane distillation, with a focus on sustainable applications in water, food, and energy.

The position emphasizes process design, system integration, and performance optimization. Responsibilities include research, teaching at all levels, supervision, and collaboration with industry. Applicants should have a strong research background in membrane processes.

This is a full-time, six-year position with access to cutting-edge infrastructure such as the Pre-Pilot Plant and MemLab. The role includes pedagogical training and opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.
